Between music and art festivals, marathon races, and up-and-coming transportation launches, Spring is a busy time for Fort Worth! We’ve compiled a list of some of the top events that will be taking place, and are of course, close to us! So go out and have some fun, but be sure and stop by Brownstone for lunch or dinner after your festivities.

Brewfest at Crockett

Get ready to sample a wide variety of craft and import beers that are sure to please even the most persnickety tastebuds. Brewfest is coming to the West 7th neighborhood on Saturday, April 13. Live music will be provided by Holy Moly, Hanna Barbarians, Two Tons of Steel, and more! Grab a beer, listen to some awesome live music, and visit some of the shops and restaurants that West 7th has to offer.

Untapped Music Festival

What started out as a small festival only serving a small venue has turned into one of Fort Worth’s most popular music festivals. The Untapped Indie Music and Beer Festival will be at the Panther Island Pavillion near downtown Fort Worth on Saturday,  April 20th. The festival will showcase emerging local and national bands and dozens of craft beers. You can purchase your tickets here.

15th annual Fort Worth Zoo Run

The Fort Worth Zoo is hosting its annual Zoo Run on Saturday, April 20th. There will be a timed 5K run and a 5K fun run on a newly designed course! Come out and bring the family! Register for the Zoo Run here.

Fort Worth B-Cycle

The first bike sharing system in North Texas is coming to Fort Worth on April 22nd! Fort Worth B-Cycle is an environmentally-friendly form of transportation that allows residents of the area to travel about the city on a bicycle. With 300 bicycles and 30 docking stations, Fort Worth B-Cycle will have a shiny, new bicycle ready to be used at a location near you. Reduce your carbon footprint, and get some exercise while you’re at it!  You can sign up for a membership here.

Mayfest

Don’t be left out! Mayfest is THE place to be in Fort Worth from May 2nd through May 5th. Mayfest will feature seven stages of entertainment, 5 and 10K runs, an art and gift market, youth art show and contest, children’s area, duck races, food, and lots more. Fort Worth Music Festival

The Fort Worth Music Festival will be held on the lawn of the Will Rogers Memorial Center this year from May 17th to May 18th. The festival will have 30 bands on 3 stages, with music ranging from Country to Jazz to Indie Rock. There will also be an artwork exhibit, culinary classes, and tons of food! It’s that time of year when hunting for hidden treasures becomes a shared sport. And let’s be honest – it’s fun no matter how old you get. So beginning Wednesday, March 27th 2013, Brownstone will begin the great West 7th scavenger hunt.

There are 20 hidden brownstones; 16 are hiding around Fort Worth’s West 7th neighborhood, and 4 are hiding somewhere within Brownstone’s social media sites. There are many ways to find the brownstones, but there’s only one way to win.

Keep your eyes peeled as you walk the West 7th neighborhood. When you find one, scan the QR code to see how you could be the winner of a special prize. Then make a note of the unique word found below the QR code; each stone has a unique word. You can upload a QR reader app from Google Play or the App Store.

Go to our Facebook page after finding as many stones as you can, go to the contest tab, enter your info and all the words found on the stones. At the end of the contest period, Brownstone will choose one Grand Prize winner and two Runners Up from those entrants who’ve found the most stones. You MUST like our Facebook page to win.

Entrants can also enjoy the hunt by following the hashtag #StoneHunt on Twitter and Instagram, and by watching our Facebook posts. A good idea is to opt into all of our posts so you don’t miss anything. We’ll give hints throughout the hunt about locations.

Loaded Baked Potato
This scrumptious and hearty favorite will satisfy that savory craving in a flash, and is loaded with all your favorite toppings.

Tomato Bisque
Although it’s normally known as a popular side, the tomato bisque at Brownstone is so delicious, you’ll want to have a bowl!

Rahr Chili
Yes… that name is synonymous with the Rahr & Sons Brewing Company, also a favorite local brand. Spiced just right, topped with shredded cheddar, and served with toasted bread slices, this new bowl on the block will become a Fort Worth worth favorite quickly.

Other soups sometimes featured include: roasted red pepper bisque with chicken, homestyle beef stew, cream of broccoli, and more. The availability of each soup varies by day and we also like to feature new soups from time to time, so always ask your server about the soup of the day. Like most Fort Worth natives, we love our wine. Even more than that, we love helping our patrons find their favorite wines and which menu item they will enjoy as its pairing – or vice versa! Atteca Grenache

Can you believe it’s almost New Year’s Eve? The last twelve months have been a rollercoaster of a year. America witnessed winners and losers in the summer olympics and the 2012 election season. Our friends up north weathered a storm of epic proportions; we saw tragedies unfold and heroes rise above. Music fans said goodbye to a queen of R&B and the world said hello to a royal baby bump. Fort Worth cheered their TCU Frogs into the Big 12, and here at Brownstone we gained a new look and new fans.
